An MT5 white label is a MetaTrader 5 brokerage set-up in which a company holding a MetaQuotes server licence provides another company with a branded MT5 environment under its agreement. The white label broker has its own name on the terminals, its own clients and trading conditions; the server and the MetaQuotes contract remain with the licence holder.
What does MT5 white label mean?
MT5 white label means running a brokerage on MetaTrader 5 under your own brand while another company’s MetaQuotes licence and server sit behind it. “White label” is borrowed from retail, where one manufacturer makes a product and another sells it under its own name.
In the MetaTrader world the term has a specific flavour. The licence holder, often called the main label, runs the trade server. The white label broker gets a branded set of client terminals, its own groups, symbols and trading conditions, and Manager access for its staff. Clients see the white label’s brand, not the holder’s.
MetaQuotes uses the phrase itself: its corporate page for MetaTrader 5 brokers, checked on 12 October 2026, says the platform “supports White Label licensing”. Its licence sales page, by contrast, describes only Entry, Standard and Enterprise licences.
How does an MT5 white label work?
An MT5 white label works as a chain: MetaQuotes licenses the server to a holder, the holder sets up a branded environment for the white label, and the white label serves its own clients. Each party has its own contract and obligations.
- Licence holderHolds an MT5 licence from MetaQuotes and runs the trade server on its own hardware.
- White label brokerIs verified, then receives branded terminals, groups, symbols and Manager access under the holder’s agreement.
- ClientsOpen accounts with the white label broker, which handles KYC, payments and its own regulatory duties.
How is an MT5 white label different from a grey label and a main label?
The three terms differ by who holds the MetaQuotes licence and how much control the broker has. All three are market terms; MetaQuotes sells its own licences as Entry, Standard and Enterprise.
- An MT5 grey label is a brokerage set up inside another company’s licensed MetaTrader 5 server: you get your own client groups and your brand on the WebTrader, mobile apps, CRM and client portal, while the MT5 server licence stays with the provider. See grey label brokerage.
- A main label is the broker that holds its own licence. See main label.
| Term | Who holds the MetaQuotes licence | What the broker controls |
|---|---|---|
| Main label (full licence) | The broker itself | Everything, including the server |
| MT5 white label | Licence holder; broker’s company verified | Branded terminals, groups, conditions, Manager access |
| MT5 grey label | Provider | Client groups and brand on WebTrader, apps, CRM and portal |
Can you still get an MT5 white label?
Sometimes. Trade press reported in 2022 that MetaQuotes had made white labels much harder to obtain and then paused new ones; FX News Group wrote on 29 September 2022 that no new white labels would be processed “until further notice”. B2Broker, in an article dated April 2026, states that new MT5 white label licences stopped in late 2022. Yet MetaQuotes’ corporate page still refers to white label licensing, and some licence holders still run white label arrangements.
In practice, availability is decided case by case and depends on your company’s documents and the licence holder’s agreement. MT4 is different: MetaQuotes states that MT4 licences are no longer available for purchase. The full record is on MetaQuotes white label policy.
What does an MT5 white label cost?
It depends on the licence holder, what is bundled and the MetaQuotes tier behind the server. MetaQuotes does not publish prices, and we do not print figures here because they change; ask us and we will send current figures for your set-up.
A white label quote normally combines a setup charge, a monthly platform fee and sometimes per-account or volume charges. The holder’s own costs sit underneath: MetaQuotes charges a monthly fee by tier (Entry, Standard or Enterprise), and in the applications we handle the Entry tier requires three months paid upfront. Ask any provider which lines are fixed, which can change, whether liquidity, CRM and apps are included, and what you pay if you leave.
What is the MT5 white label term used with?
The term usually appears alongside a handful of related concepts that describe the rest of a brokerage’s technology. Knowing them helps when you read a provider’s offer.

- Forex CRM: onboarding, KYC, payments and IB commissions. See forex CRM.
- Web API: how custom front ends connect to MT5. See MetaTrader Web API.
