MetaQuotes white label policy in 2026 has no single public statement. Its corporate page says MetaTrader 5 “supports White Label licensing”, its licence page lists only Entry, Standard and Enterprise, and trade press reported in 2022 that new white labels were paused or tightly restricted. MT4 licences are no longer sold. Availability is decided case by case.
What is MetaQuotes’ white label policy in 2026?
MetaQuotes has not published a white label policy as such; what exists is a set of statements on its own websites and a series of trade-press reports since 2018. Read together, they describe a programme that became much harder to enter from 2022, rather than one that was publicly closed.
The current position, as we checked it on 12 October 2026, is contradictory on the surface. The MetaTrader 5 broker page on metaquotes.net says the platform “supports White Label licensing”. The licence sales page on metatrader5.com lists only Entry, Standard and Enterprise and does not mention white labels. And vendors such as B2Broker state that new white label licences stopped in late 2022. All three can be true at once: MetaQuotes may still allow white labels under existing licence holders’ agreements while approving few new ones.
Our practical reading is simple. Do not assume a white label is available, and do not assume it is impossible. Check each case with the licence holder and plan an alternative in parallel.

What does MetaQuotes itself say about white labels and MT4?
MetaQuotes’ own pages say three things that matter here: MetaTrader 5 supports white label licensing, MT5 is sold in three self-hosted tiers, and MT4 licences can no longer be bought. Each statement below was checked on the page itself on 12 October 2026.
On metaquotes.net, the MetaTrader 5 broker page states: “MetaTrader 5 supports White Label licensing, provides enhanced back-office functionality, connectivity to exchanges and liquidity providers, and comprehensive APIs for integration with your website, trading infrastructure, and post-trading systems.” On metatrader5.com, the licence page describes Entry (“business capacity of 1,000 real accounts”), Standard (25,000) and Enterprise (200,000), says brokers deploy the software on their own hardware and that MetaQuotes does not offer SaaS. On metatrader4.com, the broker page carries the sentence quoted below and adds that MetaQuotes focuses its efforts on MetaTrader 5.
“The MetaTrader 4 trading platform licenses are no longer available for purchase.”

What changed for MT4 in 2018?
In January 2018 MetaQuotes stopped selling new MT4 licences to new clients. Finance Magnates reported on 12 January 2018 that the company would stop issuing new licences while existing customers could keep using the platform, and that it would continue “the offering of white label terminals for servers that are already in use”.
That second point explains much of the later confusion. MT4 white labels did not disappear overnight in 2018; they continued on servers that already existed. What stopped was new capacity. Over time, as MetaQuotes focused on MT5, MT4 white labels became scarcer and today MetaQuotes states plainly that MT4 licences are not available for purchase. If you specifically need MT4, write to us and we will check availability for your case. See also MT4 white label and MT4 to MT5 migration.
What changed for MT5 white labels in 2022?
In 2022 MetaQuotes first made white labels much harder to obtain through tougher documentation, then, according to trade press, stopped processing new ones for a period. None of this was announced publicly by MetaQuotes; it reached the market through partners and sources.
TradeInformer wrote on 18 July 2022 that the main change appeared to be “a substantial increase in the level of documentation required to obtain a white label”, and that “no one actually knows what the MetaQuotes policy is”. Finance Magnates then set out the reported pack on 9 September 2022: incorporation documents, registers of directors and shareholders, proof of address, good standing or incumbency, domain ownership, a certified bank reference and video identification of key persons.
At the end of September, FX News Group reported on 29 September 2022 that MetaQuotes had told partners its white label product was unavailable and that no new white labels would be processed “until further notice”. TradeInformer followed on 3 October 2022, reporting messages stating “no MT4 or MT5 white labels are being issued” and noting “The company has not said anything.” The same weeks saw MT4 and MT5 removed from Apple’s App Store; MetaQuotes announced their reinstatement on 6 March 2023.
What happened to prop firms on MetaTrader in 2024?
In February 2024 MetaQuotes acted against prop trading firms using MetaTrader, and firms running on other brokers’ licences were cut off within days. Finance Magnates reported on 22 February 2024 that it started on 14 February, when one popular funding firm “abruptly closed trading and stopped services for all traders”, and that MetaQuotes had begun “cracking down on prop trading companies” relying on MT4 and MT5.
The same report described a broker that had “grey-labeled its own MetaTrader license to prop trading companies”, and noted firms migrating to cTrader, Match-Trader and other platforms. The lesson for white and grey labels is not about prop trading alone: a business running under someone else’s licence is only as safe as that licence’s permissions. Our prop trading technology page covers the current options for prop firms.
What changed in 2024 and 2025: documents and licence terms?
In late 2024 MetaQuotes updated the white label document list, and from January 2025 it revised its monthly licence terms. Both point to a programme that still exists but asks more of applicants.
Eternity Law International wrote on 22 October 2024 that MetaQuotes had updated the list of documents required to access the white label programme, requiring business activities such as online currency trading, financial and investment services, trading in financial instruments and brokerage services, and that the registered company name should coincide with the platform branding. Finance Magnates reported on 6 December 2024 that MetaQuotes had notified clients of changes to its monthly licence fees from 1 January 2025 and had made it difficult for offshore entities to acquire new MT5 licences. Our MT5 white label requirements and MT5 white label cost pages go into each.
How do MetaQuotes’ MT5 licence fees work in 2026?
MetaQuotes charges a monthly fee for an MT5 licence, and the amount depends on the tier: Entry, Standard or Enterprise. MetaQuotes does not publish its prices, and the figures we see change over time, so we do not print them on this page.
The tiers themselves are public. The licence page on metatrader5.com describes Entry with a business capacity of 1,000 real accounts, Standard with 25,000 and Enterprise with 200,000. In the applications we handle for clients, MetaQuotes asks for three months to be paid upfront when the Entry tier is chosen, which matters for cash planning in the first quarter. The tier you pick should follow your realistic account forecast, not the most optimistic one, because moving up later is usually simpler than paying for capacity you do not use.
Licence fees are only one line of a launch budget. Servers, data centres, liquidity and bridge connections, the broker CRM, front ends and compliance work all sit alongside them. FXUP is a consulting firm that prepares MetaQuotes requirements and applications for its clients, for a fee, and it also supplies the technology around the licence. If you want the current MetaQuotes figures for a given tier, message us on WhatsApp and we will send what we see in live applications.
What does MetaQuotes’ white label policy mean for brokers in 2026?
For brokers in 2026, the policy means a new MT5 white label is possible only in some cases, requires a strong document pack and should never be the only plan. The routes below are what we discuss with founders today.
Apply for a white label
Through a licence holder, with a complete document pack. Possible in some cases; availability is checked case by case. See MT5 white label.
Start on a grey label
Your client groups and brand on a provider’s licensed MT5 server, live in about 1–2 weeks with FXUP. See MT5 grey label.
Apply for your own licence
A direct MetaQuotes agreement in the Entry, Standard or Enterprise tier, with your own servers. See own MT5 licence.
Consider another platform
cTrader, Match-Trader, DXtrade and others run their own white label programmes. See MT5 white label alternatives.
How do you check a provider’s claim about MetaQuotes’ policy?
Check a provider’s claim by asking for the source and for written terms. Much of what circulates, in both directions, is repeated from other vendors without a date or a link to MetaQuotes.
- Ask for the sourceIf a provider says white labels are “stopped” or “fully available”, ask which MetaQuotes statement or report it relies on, and its date.
- Ask who holds the licenceGet the licence holder’s legal name and tier, and written confirmation that your arrangement is permitted under its agreement.
- Check what you would actually getIs it a recognised white label with your company verified, or groups on a shared server, which is a grey label?
- Read the change clausesHow are changes in MetaQuotes’ terms or fees passed on, and what happens to your clients if permissions are withdrawn?
- Keep a second route readyPlan a grey label or own-licence path so a policy change does not stop your business.
How does FXUP handle white label requests given this record?
FXUP checks every white label request case by case and tells you early if it is not realistic. FXUP is an independent technology provider and is not affiliated with MetaQuotes; we do not speak for MetaQuotes and nothing on this page is a MetaQuotes statement unless it is quoted and linked as one.
Where a white label is possible, we prepare the documents with you and set up the environment, liquidity, CRM and front ends. For the CRM we propose either our own broker CRM or one of the partner CRMs we work with, whichever fits your operation. Where it is not, we suggest the route that fits. If you have heard something about MetaQuotes’ policy that is not on this page, tell us on WhatsApp and we will check it against the sources.
