MT5 white label requirements in 2026 are a registered company with financial-services business activities, verified directors and shareholders, proof of address and good standing, a domain in the company’s name, a corporate bank account with a bank reference, a compliant website and any licence your target markets require. MetaQuotes verifies the company before a white label is approved.
What are the requirements for an MT5 white label in 2026?
The requirements for an MT5 white label fall into five groups: the company, its owners and directors, its bank, its website and its regulatory position. A sixth group, the technical set-up, is not checked by MetaQuotes in the same way but decides whether you can actually trade on the day you are approved.
MetaQuotes does not publish a separate white label checklist. The most detailed public material is its own guide to starting a brokerage on MetaTrader 5, plus reports from Finance Magnates (9 September 2022) and Eternity Law International (22 October 2024) describing the white label document pack. The table pulls those together; the sections below explain each line.
| Requirement | What it means in practice | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Registered company | Incorporated entity with relevant business activities in its constitution or registration | MetaQuotes guide; Eternity Law 2024 |
| Owners and directors | Register of directors and shareholders; identity checks, including video ID | Finance Magnates 2022; Eternity Law 2024 |
| Address and standing | Proof of physical address; good standing or incumbency if older than six months | Finance Magnates 2022 |
| Domain | Domain registered in the company’s full name | Finance Magnates 2022 |
| Bank | Corporate account at a licensed bank; reference letter or statement | MetaQuotes guide; Finance Magnates 2022 |
| Website | Company details, contact form, addresses, risk disclosures, restricted countries | MetaQuotes guide |
| Regulatory position | Activities in line with the rules of your target markets | MetaQuotes guide |
| Branding | Platform name consistent with the registered company name | Eternity Law 2024 |
What kind of company do you need for an MT5 white label?
You need a registered company whose official business activities cover brokerage or trading in financial instruments. A general trading or consulting company is usually not enough, even if the shareholders have years of market experience.
MetaQuotes’ guide puts it as the first step (quoted below). Eternity Law International wrote on 22 October 2024 that MetaQuotes’ updated list required the company to be engaged in activities such as online currency trading, financial and investment services, trading in financial instruments, online forex services and brokerage services on financial markets. If your certificate of incorporation or register extract does not show any of these, fix that before you apply.
The same article noted that the registered company name should coincide with the platform branding. If you plan to trade as a brand that differs from your legal name, discuss it with your provider early, because it affects the terminal branding and the app listings.
“To start with, you need to have a registered company, with the relevant business activities registered under that entity.”
Which documents does MetaQuotes ask for?
MetaQuotes asks for a standard corporate due-diligence pack: incorporation documents, registers of directors and shareholders, proof of address, good standing where relevant, domain ownership, a bank reference and identity checks of key people. Finance Magnates listed these on 9 September 2022, and Eternity Law described a similar pack in October 2024.
Prepare certified copies where your jurisdiction allows, and translations for anything not in English. Mismatches cause most delays: an address on the utility bill that differs from the registered address, a director’s name spelled differently on the passport and the register, a domain registered to a web agency.
- Certificate of incorporation and memorandum or articles showing the business activities.
- Register of directors and register of shareholders, up to the ultimate beneficial owners.
- Proof of the company’s physical address, such as a recent utility bill or lease.
- Certificate of good standing or incumbency if the company is older than six months.
- Proof that the domain is registered in the company’s full name.
- A certified reference letter or statement from the company’s bank.
- Passports or ID cards of key persons, with identity verified on video.
- Any licence or authorisation the company holds, with the regulator’s register entry.
| Document | Usually issued by | Common problem we see |
|---|---|---|
| Certificate of incorporation and constitution | Company registry | Business activities too general to cover brokerage |
| Registers of directors and shareholders | Registered agent or registry | Ultimate beneficial owners not shown |
| Proof of physical address | Utility company or landlord | Address differs from the registered or website address |
| Good standing or incumbency | Registry or registered agent | Older than the provider will accept |
| Domain ownership | Domain registrar | Domain held by a director or a web agency |
| Bank reference or statement | The company’s bank | Issued for another entity in the group |
| Identity of key persons | The persons themselves, verified on video | Expired passport or name spelled differently |
Why does the bank reference matter so much?
The bank reference matters because it shows that a licensed bank has already carried out its own checks on your company, and for many new brokerages it is the hardest document to get. Finance Magnates reported in September 2022 that the corporate account verification step was said to have been introduced in July 2022.
MetaQuotes’ guide says the next step after the company is “a corporate bank account from a licensed bank”. In practice that means a bank, not only an electronic money institution, although what is accepted can vary. Banks that serve forex brokers ask detailed questions about your business model, client countries and source of funds, and the process can take several weeks. Start it early, in parallel with everything else.
What must your website show before you apply?
Your website must show full company information, a way to contact you, risk disclosures and the list of countries you do not serve. MetaQuotes’ guide is explicit on this, and a missing restricted-countries list is one of the most common reasons we see applications sent back.
- Legal company name and registration number.
- Registered address and the operating address of your physical office.
- Contact form, email and phone.
- Risk warnings appropriate to your jurisdiction and products.
- The list of restricted countries you will not accept clients from.
- Client agreement, privacy policy and complaints procedure.
- Any licence details, shown exactly as on the regulator’s register.
Do you need a financial licence for an MT5 white label?
Whether you need a financial licence depends on where your company is, where your clients live and what you do for them. MetaQuotes’ guide asks that your registered activities comply with offering services to your target market and are “in line with any applicable regulatory requirements”; it does not publish a rule that every white label must hold a particular licence.
Several vendors went further after 2022 and wrote that a financial licence is now required. We have not seen that in a MetaQuotes document, but we have seen applications with a licence move more easily than those without. Finance Magnates also wrote in December 2024 that MetaQuotes had made it difficult for offshore entities to acquire new MT5 licences. Regulators in many markets require a licence before you can market to their residents, so the practical answer is usually yes for any serious target market.
Our forex licence jurisdictions page compares common routes, and own MT5 licence explains how a licence and MetaQuotes’ application fit together.
How much capital do you need?
MetaQuotes does not publish a capital requirement for white labels. Minimum capital is set by the regulator for each licence category, so the amount depends on the licence you hold or plan to obtain, not on the platform.
Beyond regulatory capital, plan for working capital: platform fees paid in advance, liquidity provider deposits or margin, payment provider reserves, staff and marketing until revenue arrives. If you apply for your own MT5 licence, MetaQuotes charges a monthly fee that depends on the tier (Entry, Standard or Enterprise), and in the applications we handle, choosing Entry means three months are paid upfront. That upfront payment lands before your first client deposits, so build it into the opening cash plan.
We do not publish price figures, because they change and depend on your set-up. What we can do is tell you which cost lines to expect and send current figures on request. Our MT5 white label cost page explains what drives the platform side, and the brokerage technology cost guide covers the wider budget. Message us on WhatsApp and we will send current figures for your case.
What are the technical requirements for an MT5 white label?
The technical requirements are a configured MT5 environment, a liquidity connection, a back office for onboarding and payments, and client front ends on your own domain. MetaQuotes’ checks focus on the company, but you cannot open accounts without these pieces.
Server environment
Groups, symbols, swaps, margin, sessions and Manager accounts set up by the licence holder. Agree the symbol list and trading conditions before approval so set-up can start straight away.
Liquidity
An agreement with at least one liquidity provider and a bridge or gateway to MT5, unless the licence holder supplies pricing. See MT5 liquidity bridge.
CRM and KYC
Registration, identity checks, deposits and withdrawals, IB commissions and MT5 account sync. We offer our own broker CRM and also work with partner CRMs, and propose whichever fits. See KYC and AML.
Payments
Payment service providers that accept forex merchants in your markets. Expect their own due diligence.
Front ends
Branded terminals plus, if you want them, a branded WebTrader and mobile apps published from your own developer accounts.
Domains and email
Your main domain, a client portal sub-domain and company email addresses on the same domain as the one in your application.
How does MetaQuotes’ due diligence work?
MetaQuotes’ due diligence works as a document review of your company, owners and bank, followed by identity checks of key persons and questions where something is unclear. For a white label the pack normally goes through the licence holder rather than straight from you.
Timing is the part nobody can guarantee. A complete, consistent pack moves faster; each missing or mismatched document adds a round of questions. The steps below are how we prepare clients.
- Pre-checkWe review your company documents, bank position and website against the checklist and flag gaps before anything is submitted.
- Fix and collectYou obtain missing documents, align addresses and names, and update the website. This is usually the longest step.
- SubmissionThe pack goes to the licence holder for MetaQuotes’ verification, including identity checks of key persons.
- QuestionsAnswer follow-up questions quickly and in full. Slow answers add more time than anything else.
- Approval and set-upOnce approved, FXUP typically has the white label live in about 2–4 weeks, depending on liquidity onboarding and branding.
Why do MT5 white label applications get stuck?
Applications get stuck mainly because documents do not match each other, the business activities are too general, or the bank letter is missing. Each of these is fixable, but only if you spot it before submission.
- Business activities that do not mention brokerage or financial instruments.
- Different addresses on the register, the utility bill and the website.
- Domain registered to an individual or an agency instead of the company.
- No bank reference, or a reference from a bank for another entity.
- Website without restricted countries or risk warnings.
- Directors or shareholders whose identity documents are expired or inconsistent.
- A brand name with no visible link to the registered company name.
- Target markets that the company is clearly not allowed to serve.
How can FXUP help you meet the MT5 white label requirements?
FXUP helps by pre-checking your document pack, pointing out what MetaQuotes’ verification is likely to question and, once you are approved, setting up the server environment, liquidity, CRM and front ends. Where you still need a company or licence, we can introduce routes through partners as part of our licensing support. FXUP works as a consulting firm on this side: we handle MetaQuotes requirements and applications for our clients, for a fee, alongside the technology. FXUP is not affiliated with MetaQuotes; approval is always MetaQuotes’ decision.
If you are unsure whether your company qualifies, send us a short summary on WhatsApp with your jurisdiction, business activities and bank position. If a white label is not realistic, an MT5 grey label or the alternatives may get you started sooner.
